Sarah Scahill B.N., RN, CDMP, LNC

Sarah Scahill is a highly motivated professional, combining her health care expertise with a robust business acumen and a genuine passion for public service. Sarah brings a unique skill set encompassing health, education, business, and law, and she is currently pursuing her Master of Health Studies with a dual focus on Health Research and Leadership. With over a decade of frontline nursing experience in diverse healthcare settings and nine years in Human Resources, Sarah has acquired valuable insights into both the intricacies of healthcare and the challenges of managing human capital.

Sarah’s dedication to continuous learning is evident through her completion of specialized education in labor law, human rights legislation, accommodation law, privacy and health information management, and change leadership. Certified in Legal Nurse Consulting, she possesses the knowledge and expertise to offer expert witness statements on nursing standards of care in medical-legal cases and consult on complex medical disability insurance files.

With a career primarily in public service, Sarah navigates the complexities of heavily unionized, public-sector environments, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based decision-making and upholding strong moral principles. Sarah holds licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Registered Nurse and is a Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) licensed with the Canadian Society of Professionals in Disability Management. Sarah serves as a Regulatory Committee Member with the CRNA and is the Chair of the Medicine Hat Police Commission.

Sarah founded ExecRN after noting a lack of resources for employers, specifically in the public-sector, to successfully navigate complex medical-legal situations. Sarah aspires to increase confidence and efficacy of employers in pursuing this work, while simultaneously ensuring that organizations are providing equitable and inclusive practices that support employee well-being.
